Chloe’s Stones
This creative activity is a great way to remember your brother or sister.
On this page James tells you how to make your own stone in memory of your brother or sister. It is just one of many activities you can do.
James’ little sister Chloe died from cancer aged 10, and in her memory he and his family invited people to paint a stone and then take it on a journey.
Step one: Find a stone
Find a stone, this could be in your garden, a local park or on the beach.
Step two: Decorate the stone
Once you have chosen your stone, it is time to decorate it. This could be with felt-tips, paints or sequins. Then write a message to your sibling, it could be something like ‘I love you’ or ‘always in our hearts”.
Step three: Take it somewhere with you
Take the stone with you on your travels, whether that is heading out to your favourite place, somewhere you liked to spend time with your sibling or abroad on holiday. Take a photo with your decorated stone and either post it online or show it to your friends. It is a nice way of knowing and symbolising your sibling is with you.
