Programme
for Parents
Introduction
We welcome you to Sibling Support’s Programme for Parents, a place to help you navigate the complex process of grief with your children. Around 100 parents, siblings and bereavement practitioners have come together with thanks to The National Lottery to create this resource and we hope that this space provides you with the guidance you need.
We understand that navigating grief is incredibly challenging and deeply personal. Our aim is to provide you with information, support, practical tools, and exercises to help you and your children following the death of their brother and/or sister.
The programme includes various topics such as how to talk about emotions, how to explain death and funerals to children, dealing with different behaviours, and how to look after yourself as a parent or carer.
We recognise that every parent’s journey is unique, and our programme is flexible to try to meet your needs. You can login and work through the topics whenever you want, and you can pick from the sections which are most relevant to you right now. Not everything on here will feel useful to you.
