What is a funeral?

Lots of families hold funerals when a brother or sister dies.

They are a way to say goodbye.

A funeral is a special service usually held in an important place like a church, mosque, chapel, synagogue or somewhere else.

Funerals look different depending on lots of things, like religion.

Have a conversation with a parent or carer about what your siblings funeral will look like.

Sometimes other people will also be at the funeral. Some of them you may know, others you may not recognise. Some of them may cry or feel sad, this is okay.

People may read poems or stories about your brother or sister, and there might be songs played that your brother or sister liked.
